Ways to Connect


Superstar violinist Itzhak Perlman tells the story of the Jewish festival of lights, and shares his favorite recordings for the holiday. Musical selections include selections from Perlman’s radio-addicted childhood in Israel, Yiddish and Ladino songs, classical music that revolves around Maccabee heroes of the story and Chanukah gems by American folk singers.


Listeners are transported to the 16th century splendor of Renaissance Italy, with Christmas music from the Venetian world of Giovanni Bassano and Gioseffo Zarlino, moving westward to the Milan of Franchinus Gaffurius, and southerly to the Naples of Diego Ortiz.

Traditional sacred music from 15th century Valencia and 17th century Mexico, plus selections from Pablo Casals' El Pesebre (The Nativity).

Saint Paul

The Rose Ensemble teams up with a Baroque band of period instruments to present a unique blend of 17th century seasonal music for the holidays from Italy, preserved in the Cathedral archives on the Island of Malta, being heard for the first time in hundreds of years.

Eastman Horn Choir on stage at Hochstein

The Eastman Horn Choir returns for this holiday classic. Stop by or tune in to enjoy festive musical fun with horn players from the Eastman School of Music, led by Peter Kurau.
